And the tailgate looks like an O'Reilly Auto Parts stick-on chrome special. Discuss.

Not that I don't agree.

It's disgusting.

I figured this would be a pretty universal opinion on here, actually.
![]() 02/12/2015 at 09:10 |

It's not the Chrome as much as how stupid it looks.

Usually the truck itself is for men needing to compensate
That badge though, is for men smaller than justin bieber

I liked the looks of the Ram trucks, strong curves and such, but this is just horrendous.
![]() 02/12/2015 at 09:14 |

Agreed, chrome is sometimes okay. On here it just make what's there more noticeable.

I don't like the grille, but I do like that they are at least trying something different. That said, somebody with photoshop skillz, unlike myself, needs to take the two halves of the grille cutout, rotate them 180 degrees, and put the open sides together. Voila! The Ford grille. It seems it's all about corners and angles these days.
![]() 02/12/2015 at 09:16 |

My only problem with that first part is, Ford is doing the same thing, and no doubt chevy will to. So yeah, it's new, but it will only be original for so long.

I'm not really sure what type of truck this is but it definitely reminds me of another truck I had trouble identifying recently..

Paint it body color, it still looks like a pig snout.
![]() 02/12/2015 at 09:19 |

That is just freaking disgusting. I liked Ram trucks before, but that is just awful.
![]() 02/12/2015 at 09:21 |

That's not real...
It can't be real...
Please tell me its not real!

The tailgate letters could be done right, they're just not in this example, so I'm not fully against them. That grill though, the aftermarket for replacement grills is going to boom.
![]() 02/12/2015 at 09:34 |

it's another attempt to get people to stop calling them Dodges
![]() 02/12/2015 at 09:36 |

As a Chrysler fanboy its hard to admit I don't like this. But it is the kind of thing truck buyers would like and huge lettering has more than not been the norm on trucks.
IMO its out of place here though, I really am just hoping the next full on redesign applies this better.

*Squints* not sure

I wish I could, man. I wish I could.
They've pre-Florida-d it.

And here I was considering buying a stripper 4WD diesel Ram for tow duty.
![]() 02/12/2015 at 09:43 |

They have to stuff it somehow.
![]() 02/12/2015 at 09:44 |

Yeah, like that's gonna change. I live in the South. Even the salesweasels at the dealers still call them Dodge trucks when not within earshot of their manager.
![]() 02/12/2015 at 09:47 |

BUT IT'S NOT A DODGE IT'S A RAM
![]() 02/12/2015 at 10:06 |

I don't hate the grille on the Ram above, but I can't stand the grille on this one:
*vomits*
![]() 02/12/2015 at 10:10 |

That's why I'm glad I debadge mine. Plus the OEM blocked too much light for a behind the grille light bar.
![]() 02/12/2015 at 10:10 |

Well if the big ass "RAM" is chrome, it's most likely stuck on, which means it can be removed. That thing of a grille on the other hand is not gonna be cheap to replace. Seriously, who thought *that* design was a good idea?
![]() 02/12/2015 at 10:15 |

"Even though we decided only very recently in our history that for no reason we were going to piss away the 'Dodge' name and its association with trucks, we demand that you honor it by calling it RAM, and we'll remind you as often as we can, you fucks. RAM. RAM RAM RAM RAM. Not enough? Try some big fucking letters. RAM, you hillbilly soft pricks. Your ignorance of our well-considered marketing that was thoroughly focus-grouped once in Cincinnati only deepens our disdain. RAM, you groveling worms. Don't like it? We'll take away something bigger than the Cummins next time."
Yeah, I'm not getting that they respect their customer base. Like, at all.
![]() 02/12/2015 at 10:19 |

I'm really hoping they realize how stupid this idea is and take Ram back into the Dodge fold
Just like they did SRT

Only to the marketing twits. Only to them.

Your ignorance of our well-considered marketing that was thoroughly focus-grouped once in Cincinnati only deepens our disdain.
As conducted by WKRP in Cincinnati . Yes, their focus group could have plausibly have consisted solely of a fledgling radio station's staff, and no one else.

But sunk cost fallacy lots of money spent on marketing and market research harglebargle

Well, obviously. I mean just look at those focus group results.

I HATE Dodge for doing this. Honestly the Ram had nothing wrong in its design.

Plot twist: it's actually the "adults" involved who are eating crayons.

Plot twist: The adults are dressed like 8 year olds, and the 8 year olds are pretending to be Daddy. There is also a distinct whiff of drugs somewhere in the studio.

Plot twist of a plot twist: The whole thing is being imagined by Lee Iacocca in the late 90s as he lies near death after a drunk fight with Bob Lutz.

I don't disagree, but at least there is some paint up front.
Ram did ruin the Limited though. It looked great, and mostly chrome free, then they ruined it. Luckily grill swaps and tailgate swaps aren't that difficult. Much easier than entire front end removal.

Bad news: 5 pounds of weight you could carry is now dedicated to logo's.
Good news: 5 percent more of the vehicles surface will not rust out.
